“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20
Good morning,
God spoke to me about creating a profile on the sanctified life of a believer. This deals with the transition from your natural self to a “born again” believer. This based on biblical truth mixed in with my own personal experiences.
The sanctified life begins with your sincere commitment to live for God and make Him the centerpiece of your life. This decision enables you to become a new person in Christ Jesus. Your old self has died on the cross with Jesus and you have a new identity.
You become a member of the “set apart” generation of believers. From God’s point of view, you are a prized possession and a special treasure to Him. You live in the world but you are not of the world. You are a spiritual being reflecting the attributes of renown, praise, and glory. You are a bright light for God and people see God in you. You develop the characteristics of love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, meekness, and self control.
God begins the lifelong process of sanctification. He changes you into the personality of Jesus. You learn to think and act differently and operate with pure motives. You esteem others more highly than yourself and treat all people in the same way you want to be treated.
The sanctified life is not about works. It is about trusting God for all your needs. You develop an intimate relationship with the living God and walk by faith.
Sanctification is not for you. It is for God. You belong to God and He will choose your path in life. It doesn’t mean life will be easier. It will probably be more difficult.
You come to know God and experience His power and glory. The more you let go, the more He will share with you. It is not about promises of wealth. It is giving up yourself to God for His purposes.
It is trusting God when there is no answer or evidence of Him in your life. It is about faith in God when all things seem hopeless.
The sanctified believer is obedient to the voice of God. You desire to do the will of God in all aspects of your life. You don’t question God but simply comply with His requests.
You don’t try to be holy. You just act in a genuine manner without any pretenses or religiosity.
You understand God lives in you and desires to give you abundantly more than you ask or think. You are confident about all things and do not become intimidated by others.
You have a strong inner belief that if God is for you who can be against you!
