“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8

You wake up in the morning to face a new day and function on a timeline of 24/7 and 365 days in a year. God has no timeline. He lives in the past, in today, and in the future. God is omniscient which gives Him the ability to see ahead. He knows every detail of your life from birth to death.
This verse in 2 Peter relates to the second coming of Jesus to redeem His people. God keeps all His promises. The earth you are standing on is preserved by the Word of God and will stand until the Word brings an end to the earth. Whatever God promises, He is faithful to fulfill.
God is not slack or ambiguous about His promises but is long suffering toward all His people. He desires that all should come to repentance and receive the gift of eternal life. He wants to give you an abundant life and bless the desires of your heart.
You have no idea what today will bring but God has already lived today before you woke up and knows all the challenges facing you. This is why it is so important to commit each day to God and seek Him out for wisdom and protection.
You can’t control God or the events in the world but you can live with God through His Word and Spirit. He keeps His Word!
