“Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.” Hebrews 3:9

You and I tend to be stubborn people and want to do things our way. The idea of following someone living in the invisible is uncomfortable and feels very insecure.
Most people tend to evaluate God and develop feelings towards Him based on what they can see and are experiencing in life. So when things become difficult and unpredictable, they blame God and fall into unbelief. They panic, accuse God of falling asleep, and turn to other options to find relief.
Faith is trusting God and never allowing your circumstances to bias your relationship with Him. The trials of life are ordained by God and cannot be avoided. Faith is allowing God to direct your life in His ways and not questioning His judgment or actions.
If God wants you to wander in the desert for 40 years and eat manna and quail, you accept this is God’s plan for you. Your attitude should be “He’s God and can do whatever He wants”.
As humans, we want security and order in life. God wants your unwavering faith in Him and tends to discount security and predictability because they become a distraction to walking with God.
Living by faith teaches you to look to God for your every need and never to trust the world or your earthly possessions.
God never changes and is very predictable in keeping His Word. However, God’s ways are not your ways. He prefers you ride with Him in a roller coaster without having the ability to see ahead.
This will cause you to be linked to God so strongly that nothing can shake your faith!
