“There is a way that seems right to a man, but it’s end is the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12
Thought for the day: “Let Me be your Good Shepherd. My ways are perfect. I will never disappoint you or lead you astray. My purposes for you are eternal and life changing! There is no one like Me!”

If you are not a believer or you’re someone who believes in God but tries to figure out life on your own, this spiritual truth is perfect for you.
The only valid reason you should choose to live for God is because you believe He will give you a better life than you can ever give yourself. You understand in your heart that God is all powerful and no one can compare to Him.
You see the failure in trying to live a life based on self sufficiency and realize you need someone much greater than yourself to help you.
When you make a decision for Jesus you are agreeing to lead a submissive life and to abandon yourself to Him. You learn to live out the words “not my will but yours be done”.
God wants to give you an abundant life and bless the desires of your heart but it has to be done His way. This is where you have to take a back seat and relinquish control.
The priority with God is for you to seek Him out through prayer, praise, and His Word. He wants you to live by faith trusting Him for your every need. He wants to be the centerpiece of your life and help you develop into a loyal and obedient follower.
Everything else in life is secondary to your commitment to God. This is not about religion or doing works. You will never impress God by doing things. He wants your total heart devotion to Him.
This verse in Proverbs explains that many times what may seem right to you might be a dead end with God. You cannot think like God or understand His ways without the mind of Christ. This is why you want to lead a submissive life and inquire of Him before making decisions. God becomes your everything!
Keep in mind, God is an omniscient. He knows every thought you will have tomorrow before you even wake up. He wants to fill you with His peace and the joy of the Lord.
If you try to live without God this will bring misery and destruction. Your only hope is to walk with God. You do this by asking the Lord to be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway and pray for His wisdom, guidance, and protection. Commit your works each day to God and His thoughts will be established within you. This is how you walk with God. In Him you live and move and have your being.
Don’t accept the ways of the world or allow your desires to motivate your actions. Seek out the living God and He will bless you abundantly!
He alone is worthy!
