The incongruity between God and religion!

Religion is a system of controls and laws. God is about setting you free and sharing Himself with you!

But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God  is evident, for the just shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11

The definition of incongruity is the state of lacking harmony or compatibility. In this example, it is the incongruity between God and religion. They are not compatible with each other.

God wants you to worship Him alone and give all of yourself to Him. Religion wants you to worship God through a local church and the idea of abandonment to God is mostly replaced by complying to laws, doing works, and finding God through sacraments and rituals.

God wants you to live by faith trusting Him for your every need. Religion soft pedals faith by focusing on church activities and works.

God teaches that your faith in Him will bring His righteousness into your life. Religion teaches you to keep the commandments of God and do good deeds to receive the righteousness of God.

God wants a personal and intimate relationship with you. Religion teaches you must join a church and abide by their rules.

God wants you to have freedom. Religion wants to control you.

God teaches you to keep His laws through oneness with His Spirit. Religion teaches a work ethics to fulfill His laws.

God teaches you to live by faith and He will supply your every need. Religion teaches you must fulfill God’s laws to receive His blessings.

God teaches you must be one with the Holy Spirit to walk with Him. Religion diminishes the importance of the Holy Spirit and attempts to distort or minimize His influence with believers.

Jesus did not tell the adulteress to join a church, He said “Go and sin no more”.

Thought for the day:

“The door to God is through a vibrant and personal relationship with the Son of God. Religion is mostly an impediment to My purposes and stifles My Spirit. I am a Living God and you must worship Me in Spirit and Truth!”
