Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus was in His Father and His Father was in Him. They were inseparable and lived in oneness with each other.
Why would Jesus cry out these words of abandonment on the cross? Jesus was a human being with feelings and emotions just like you and me.

Jesus did not want to be tortured and die on a cross. He was without sin and created in the fullness of the Godhead.
Jesus was martyred for sin. He was not abandoned by God but was sent to fulfill the mission of God. It was a very painful end to His journey on earth.
If you are a disciple of Jesus you will cry out to God with the same words. At times will feel abandoned by God and without a purpose.
You have to be martyred or die to self to experience the resurrected life of Jesus and to bring His life to others. There is no other way to salvation.
God will look at you and determine how you must die to self to serve His purposes. He knows you better than you know yourself. God has to get self out of the way so the fullness of His life will abide in you.
The disciple of Jesus has to be totally committed to doing the will of God and this has to take precedence over his own desires. He lives for God!
Thought for the day:

“He who is without sin can throw the first stone at the adulteress. My purpose is to forgive sin and set people free. You have to be filled with My heart of love and compassion to be My disciple.”
