“In my distress I called to the Lord;
I called out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came to his ears.
The earth trembled and quaked,
the foundations of the heavens shook;
they trembled because he was angry.” 2 Samuel 22:7-8
This Psalm of praise is from David who was on the verge of death and was rescued by the hand of almighty God. David cried out to God in his distress and the Lord moved heaven and earth to save Him.
Why did God respond so quickly and powerfully to David’s plea for help?
God honored David because he had a heart devoted to serve God and desired to live a life pleasing to Him. David abandoned himself to God and walked by faith with His Redeemer. David said “My help comes from the Lord who created the heavens and earth.”

David believed the sustenance of life is embraced in this spiritual truth; “In Him, we live and move and have our being.” David pleased God with his unwavering faith even when facing death.
David was far from perfect but he was a man of honor and respect for God and lived a life of godliness and did his best to avoid evil actions.
David suffered through some terrible times but never turned away from God. He always found refuge in his God of salvation.
God is your refuge today and your only hope for life. Turn to almighty God and He will shake the earth to rescue and deliver you from your troubles. He is a God of healing and restoration!
Thought for the day:

“No problem is too big for Me. I conquered death and live today so you can live through Me. Come to Me by faith and believe in My greatness and glory. There is no one like Me!”
