He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:20-22

Abraham was a human being just like you and me. He was a man of many weaknesses and was old in age and approaching the end of life when God spoke to Him.
God told Abraham that he would be the Father of all believers. Abraham believed God and never wavered in this promise through unbelief. Abraham gave glory to God and was fully convinced that what God had promised He would bring into reality. Abraham believed in the glory and greatness of God.
This promise from God was not contingent on works or any effort on Abraham’s part. The promise was a gift from the love of God and could only be received by faith.
Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him as righteousness.
God has made promises to you through His Word and His prophetic voice. Your responsibility is to accept the promises of God by faith and live in praise to your Creator. There is no obligation to do work to receive the promises of God. They are a gift from God.
If you try to work to earn the promises or favor of God you are nullifying the work of the cross and the grace of God. You can only approach God by faith.
God will never owe you anything! He paid the price for your life on the cross. You have to come to God by faith and live in the baptism of His death and resurrected life.
Faithful is He that called!
