Hearing God when there is no God!

You have answered Me.” Psalm 22:21

David speaks out in Psalm 22 about his life and how he has been forgotten by God.

He is despised by many, his life is threatened, he is weak and barely stumbling through life. David feels like he is close to death.

David cries out to a silent God but in the middle of this Psalm he says “You have answered me.”

How can this be explained? I believe David heard the voice of God reassuring him of the promises made to him and reaffirming to David that God would deliver him from all his troubles.

You can also interpret this as David heard God through His Word in scriptures. This is unlikely because David was powerfully anointed with the Spirit of God and the Psalms were written by the Spirit of God working through David.

No human being could have composed the Psalms without the voice of God speaking through the mind of the author.

The point of this Psalm is to reach out to God when you are in misery or suffering and God seems non existent. You will hear an answer from God. It is a promise that cannot be broken.

You may not be able to see God through your circumstances and He may choose to act aloof and not interested in your troubles but He is God and He will never leave you.

Seek God out and He will answer you. He keeps His Word!
