“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God” Galatians 2:20
In preparing this narrative, God has been speaking to me about “two timing”. This the practice of worshipping God along with other gods or idols. You cannot express your love and affection for God and then turn to other gods or idols to satisfy fleshly indulgences. This makes God angry and grieves the Holy Spirit. God wants all of you.
God has also reminded me about many who have a “recalcitrant” spirit which is a rebellious attitude towards the authority of God. They insist on their own way and God has to fit in their definition of life. This is a “no win” situation if you want God.

It may surprise you but abandonment to Christ is not about holiness or deliverance from sin. And, it is not about works or religion.
It is simply a decision to know the Living Christ. This activates God to begin the process of transforming you from living for self to living in oneness with Christ.
This relationship is not about doing things for God. Or, reaching a goal. It is about a journey with Jesus.
Abandonment crucifies all motives of self. It is no longer about what you want but what Christ wants. Your life will probably become more difficult not easier.
Abandonment is accepting Christ on His terms not yours. And, you will find His terms are miles apart from your thoughts or plans.
Abandonment is learning the values of Jesus and applying them to your life.
If you are serious about God, you will be tested. This is the character building of Christ.
There is no conscious effort in abandonment. It is just about a heart commitment to live with Christ and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
Abandonment will allow you to see the power and glory of God. But Christ will never let you live there. He will point you back to the reality of today.
You can never get completely into the motion of our great God. You will always be trying to catch up with Him! This is the miracle of abandonment!
The word from God today is, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes it is the tree of life.”
I pray you can find hope in today and while you wait by faith for the tree of life. Christ lives so you can live!
