How to do the work of Christ?

“The ministry of Christ is not by might nor by power but by the Holy Spirit! This ministry comes by faith and inviting the Spirit of Christ to work through you.”

But without faith it is impossible to please Him” Hebrews 11:6

The ability to work for Christ begins with your relationship to Him.

Like the disciples, you and I are weak and powerless creatures. Without the resurrected power of the Cross, we are of little value to Christ.

The biggest mistake of believers is thinking you can do something important for Christ. This is a mockery to the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross.

We have to initially define what it means to work for Christ. Working for Christ is living in oneness with Him. It is not about doing things; it is about knowing Jesus. And, you cannot know Jesus until you are fully committed to Him without any limitations.

Working for Christ is about learning the values of Jesus and appropriating them into every aspect of your life. It is dealing with both the difficult and simple tasks of life with the mind of Christ.

God is most concerned with your motives. Are you pleasing Him or yourself? You can never become ingratiated to God through your works or good deeds.

You have to prove to God you believe in His promises and demonstrate your faith in Him through your thoughts, words, and actions. Until you get to this point, you cannot have a viable ministry for Christ.

Knowing Christ comes through prayer, living in His Word, and yielding to the Holy Spirit. Your faith must be strong, resilient and able to withstand all the crisis of life.

Finally, there can be nothing impeding your relationship with Christ. This can only happen with an open heart to God and inviting the Holy Spirit to convict you of any immortality, unclean motives, or fleshly indulgences.

You can’t avoid all sin but you can ask God to forgive you and create a clean heart within you. The righteousness of God will come through your faith and the blood of Christ.

Finally, the goal of working for Christ is to have a vibrant and embracing relationship with Him built on unyielding faith in His promises.

All the promises of God in Christ are yes and amen!
