How to be Christ centric?

The purpose of God in this season of judgment is discipleship. This begins with a decision for Jesus and then learning and appropriating the values of Jesus in your life.

Discipleship is life changing and creates the opportunity to live with Me in a vibrant and embracing relationship.

God’s priority is not building churches or guiding believers into an all encompassing relationship with a church. There is nothing wrong with going to a church that honors the values of God but this is not your ultimate goal with God.

The churches tend to take away your freedom and want to control you through religion. You are not helping God by establishing yourself in religion.

The purpose of God is to send all believers out into the world with the message of the gospel. You cannot live in a bubble and be effective for God.

Discipleship is teaching others how to walk with God.

This begins with prayer and a genuine desire to do the will of God. You must also be a student of the Bible with an understanding of spiritual truths.

Most importantly, you must be living in oneness with God anchored to the Holy Spirit.

There is also the issue of spiritual maturity and the equipping of the gifts of the Spirit.

The starting point for most believers is lifestyle discipleship. You walk with God and touch others with the Living Water through your words, actions and demeanor. You are a witness for God without preaching or judging others.

As you encounter people in different situations remember God is omniscient. He knows everything about the life and personality of every individual. He knows if they are receptive to the gospel, how to approach them and the perfect timing. So you have to linked to the Holy Spirit or your efforts will be futile.

There are many excellent examples of discipleship in the Bible. Jesus asked the woman at the well for water and this led to a conversation. Jesus spoke words of knowledge to the woman and she was deeply convicted and made a decision for Jesus.

The Spirit of God directed Phillip to an encounter with a rich Egyptian who was trying to understand scripture. Phillip explained the gospel to the Egyptian and he was saved and baptized. The timing of God and the anointed teaching skills of Phillip led to this man’s conversion.

We are in the end times facing the severe judgments of God. Pray for wisdom and the anointing of the Holy Spirit to give you a powerful ministry of discipleship.

The authenticity of Christ saves lives!
