“Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.” Psalm 91:9-11

The promises of God are awesome to those who make their dwelling place in God and love Him with all of their heart.
As an example, I was praying to God in the early years of my spiritual journey and I suddenly saw a volcano spewing lava all over the land. I saw my house untouched by the destruction of the flowing lava. This is how God protects those who dwell with Him.
The challenge is how do you dwell in the house of the Lord? I will attempt to deal with this subject avoiding all the religious cliches that turn people off and focus on the unvarnished truths of God.
The first step is you have to make God the priority or centerpiece of your life. This is a decision of the heart without compromise.
By faith acknowledge that Jesus has power and dominion over the heavens and earth.
Jesus desires to live in a symbiotic relationship with you and become your best friend.
Jesus offers you the gift of salvation so you can live with Him forever.
This miracle happens to all those who make a genuine decision for Jesus.
At this decisive moment, God seals you with the Holy Spirit. He is the life of Jesus. This is the same life Jesus displayed while on the earth.
The Holy Spirit will speak to you, give you wisdom and protect you from evil. He is the source of all the attributes of Jesus.
Your responsibility is to seek out God through prayer with a desire to please Him.
Remember, God wants you undivided devotion to Him above all else. He does not want to share you with false gods or idols. He wants all of you.
You can get to know the values of God through His word. Make a habit of reading the Bible for a few minutes everyday.
Walk with God by faith reaching out to Him for your every need.
Listen for the voice of God and respond with obedience to His instructions.
To get in touch with the reality of the Living Christ you must invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life.
This decision will cause God to be infused in all the details of your life. Like Jesus you will be walking in oneness with God.
The Holy Spirit will be in your thoughts and help you make good decisions in both the ordinary and life changing moments of life.
Jesus is not a distant God. He lives in you and wants to give you a life you can never achieve on your own.
