What causes someone to come to Jesus?

“And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment” John 16:8

The stumbling block to coming to Jesus is an attitude of impertinence which is a lack of respect for God. 

God overcomes this rebellious attitude through judgment.

The love of God is the motive behind His judgments. 

The gift of salvation is preceded with intercession and prayer orchestrated by Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit.

The act of making a decision for Jesus happens because the Spirit of God convicts an unbeliever of sin, righteousness and judgment. 

The purpose of the judgement of God is to speak to your heart and soul about light and darkness. 

You see yourself for who you are and understand the only way you can change is through the love of God.

The epiphany of salvation occurs when you see you are unworthy of God and living in spiritual poverty. The realization comes that you can never change through your own efforts. 

The judgment of God motivated by His unconditional love causes someone to be born again. 

How does the judgment of God relate to a Christ follower? 

The judgment of God is always over the life of a believer. The Holy Spirit examines your thoughts, words, motives, and decision making. Are you bringing glory to God?

You cannot escape the scrutiny of God. You are faced with either confessing your sins and seeking repentance or blocking out the conviction of God.

The judgment of God is designed to protect you from the destruction and death caused by sin. It is an expression of the deep love of God.

Do not be oblivious to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It is your safety net living in a corrupt world.
