The Holy Spirit spoke the word superfluous to me in reference to how believers are consumed by so many unnecessary worldly distractions and lose traction with Jesus.
The Olympic athlete vigorously trains for his or her event. They eliminate all distractions and concentrate on the goal. This is the discipline and zeal required to follow Jesus.
Jesus did not waste time, energy or money on things that are unnecessary. He concentrated His thoughts and actions on pleasing His Father.
Jesus walked in oneness with His Father through prayer and listening to the voice of His Father.
God is radical and does the unexpected. If you are consumed with the world you will not live in the presence of the Living Christ.
Jesus wants all of you for His purposes. The divine nature is to live in a symbiotic and personal relationship with Jesus. He wants your attention and obedience to His voice.
Walk by faith reaching out to Jesus for your every need. Faith is believing Jesus calls things that do not exist as if they did.
Jesus doesn’t care about religion because it violates the principles of the Cross. As a believer you have been baptized into the death and resurrection of Jesus. Stand in the light of the Cross and worship Jesus in Spirit and Truth.
Concentrate on Jesus through prayer, reading the Bible, and listening for His voice. Develop a cosmic conscientiousness with Jesus through the Holy Spirit.
For in Him, we live and move and have our being!
