The Spirit of Christ spoke to me last night about how Jesus embodies the chivalry life.
Chivalry relates to the medieval values of knights. They exhibited the qualities of courage, honor, courtesy, justice, and a readiness to help the weak. They also esteemed and respected women.
The knights were required to keep the moral standards of their elite title by self discipline. This is virtually impossible for a human being. The Christ follower keeps the values of God by faith and through the transformation of the inner man.
Chivalry sounds like the exact qualities of Jesus. The salvation of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit fills believers with the character of God.
We need supernatural courage to deal with the trials of life. Jesus never gave up even when facing death.
We must learn to honor and esteem all people in our life regardless of their values. Jesus was humble and cared about others above His own needs.
The chivalry believer is courteous to others regardless of the ethnic, religious or cultural divisions.
The chivalry believer appropriates the justice of God in all of his dealings in life. He does not abide by the standards of the world.
He is a doer of the word of God and reaches out to those in need. Like the good samaritan he helps the weak and downtrodden.
He respects and honors women. He responds with chivalry love and gentleness.
You and I can never be a chivalry individual without the work of Holy Spirit. He dwells in all believers and anoints you with the Spirit and power.
The “born again” believer seeks the will of God and walks in oneness with Jesus by faith.
