Backpedaling from Jesus is foolish!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The Holy Spirit spoke to me about those who foolishly backpedal from Jesus and believe goodness comes by an individual’s effort.

All human beings were created in the image of God but you can never take credit for the goodness in your life. Whether you are a believer or not the goodness in your life is measured by Jesus. He can turn the faucet on or off.

You can falsely claim your personal efforts create goodness but Jesus controls your destiny. He can bless or curse. Jesus has power and dominion over the heavens and earth. Nothing is impossible for Him.

Jesus defines the standards of justice. They have nothing to do with the world.

Jesus looks at your heart condition. He knows who will become receptive to Him.

Jesus is omniscient and sees every detail of your future.

Jesus will forgive all your sin but He is looking for a contrite heart.

Jesus is a God of unconditional love. However, He will not tolerate the worship of false gods or idols.

Jesus knows who is a lost cause and will not strive with a human being in continual rebellion against God.

Jesus is not looking for someone to keep laws or do works. And, He abhors religion. He is not looking for people who believe they are morally healthy; He is looking for sinners who need a Savior.

Jesus simply wants you to come to Him. He desires to have a personal and symbiotic relationship with a believer. He wants you to walk by faith and seek His will for your life.

Apart from Me you can do nothing!

Jesus said if you put the fine wine in old wineskins they will split and all the wine will be lost. You must put the fine wine in new wineskins and then the wine will be preserved.

In this parable, the old wineskins are your natural life at birth. The new wineskins represent a born again believer sealed with the Holy Spirit.

The fine wine will spill out of the non believer because he is an unclean vessel. The new wine will transform the born again believer into the character of Jesus. He will be a powerful light for Jesus.

The significance of this parable is the waste of living for self and seeing the goodness of God seep out of your body and flow into ruins.
