“Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Hebrews 6:14-15
The definition of unflappable relates to assurance, confidence and the discipline of letting go of control.
Abraham believed God and lived by unflappably faith. He left his homeland and security to go on an unknown journey with God.
God is trying to get across the message that nothing can rock a believer into fear or panic. As heirs of Christ, we are as secure as God.
This narrative is based on God’s promise and oath given in the Old Testament to Abraham. The term immutability refers to the unchanging nature of God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. The promises of God are better than gold. They are eternal and guaranteed by the blood of Jesus.
Like Abraham, we have to be patient and endure the journey by faith. We believe in the promises of God and not what we see with our eyes.
If you read Psalm 91 the promises of God are truly awesome and can be achieved by an unflappable attitude and deep trust in God.
We can claim these promises living by faith and zealously seeking the will of Jesus.
But there are requirements specified by Jesus. The believer must be steadfast in faith and obedient to the instructions of Jesus.
Faith has to be lived out every day of your life. This happens by reaching out to God for your every need and turning away from worldly decision making.
Jesus does fulfill promises to those who doubt God or complain about their circumstances. This is why all the Israelite adults died in the wilderness and did not enter the Promised Land.
God wants to do for you what you can never do for yourself but you must pay the price of the Cross!
It’s not my will but Yours be done!
