God promises to give a believer an abundant life and provide more than he asks or thinks. But there is a catch to this promise.
“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”. Joshua 1:8
We think of success as prosperity and having a fulfilling and well respected life.
Jesus thinks of success as doing the perfect will of God by meditating on Him and His truths.
The priority is to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness then the other things of life will be added to you.
This priority will never change. Jesus comes first through prayer, reading the Bible and listening for His voice. But the decision for Jesus is much deeper.
We have to agree to die to self and live for Jesus. The Cross is the pathway for a believer. We become a new creature in Christ Jesus and give up our old ways and become transformed into the character of Jesus.
The thinking patterns of a believer are not about self. It is a passionate desire to seek the perfect will of God for his life.
This can only happen by living under the authority of the Holy Spirit who is the life of Jesus and is sealed in all believers. He will keep you grounded in Jesus and guide your footsteps.
Jesus engineers troubles and adversity for a believer to keep you on track with His plan for your life. He strengthens your faith, gives you patience and transforms you into His personality.
We become successful by the blood of Jesus that covers our sins and convicts us of thoughts or actions that grieve the Holy Spirit.
The advantage of Jesus is He is very accessible and desires to have a personal and intimate relationship with a believer. He speaks to His people and desires to be present and powerful in all the moments of life.
