Taking Christ at His Word!

I never change! My promises come to you by faith and are everlasting!

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes and Amen” 2 Corinthians 1:20

The word from God today is supposition. This is an uncertain belief. You suppose something is true but you are uncertain.

IMG_1261

In the context of Christ, you accept a promise of God but then waiver with fear and doubt.

You and I hear the truth of God but it is not accepted by faith. It is an intellectual concept you hope will come true.

Or, you accept the truth by faith but the trials of life weaken your faith and you panic. Your faith disappears and you strive to find worldly solutions.

At times, the reality of your life will not line up with the promises of Christ. This happens to everyone and we tend to give up on God.

What we forget is God orchestrates the trials in life and has a perfect plan to deliver us. The plan will always come by faith and waiting on Christ.

The suppositions about Christ have to become a living truth in your heart. They have to be built on the foundation of Christ and not what you see with your eyes.

The challenge is how can you make the promises of Christ alive in your heart without wavering in unbelief.

The response is to take Christ at His Word. Submit your every need before Christ. Don’t take shortcuts or bail out on Christ because of a crisis in your life.

You can have an unequivocal faith by following the example of Christ in every detail of your life.

Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

God keeps His Word!

The vulnerabilities of a Christ follower!

The law of God is in his heart and none of his steps shall slide.” Psalm 37:31

The word from God today is redemption from sin comes through Christ Jesus. He is the only way you can escape the vulnerabilities of humanity and walk successfully with God.

IMG_1259

The Holy Spirit brought this topic to my mind along with His thoughts concerning how you and I can become dead to sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

You and I are very vulnerable to sin. We were born with a disposition for sin and live in a world not under the authority of Christ. And, Satan is at work to destroy all believers.

Accept you have been sold under sin. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Your inner nature is opposed to God and wants to live for self. This is the starting point with God.

Seek God first above all else. Find your help from God who created the heavens and earth. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Acting out of your emotions will draw you away from God. Recognize your feelings of fear or doubt and cast them upon the shoulders of Christ. Stay grounded in Christ. Be anxious for nothing!

Understand the threat of sin coming through your family tree. Put on the armor of Christ to guard against the genetic disposition of sin.

Trying to control your life will cause stress and anger and distance you from God. Commit your works to Christ and let go. He controls your destiny.

You cannot appease God through laws or works. Walk by faith believing in the promises of Christ.

Don’t look for predictability in Christ. He thinks and acts differently than you.

Don’t try to control sin through self efforts. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus will set you free from the law of sin and death. There is no other way.

The biggest fallacy in a believer is denying the power of the Holy Spirit. He lives in you and is the life of Christ. The Spirit allows you to encounter the Living Christ and live a pleasing life to God.

You cannot replace abandonment to God with a works ethic. Christ wants your loyalty above all else. He wants all of you!

Most believers try to accomplish their plans through self determination. This approach will never work with God. It is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit. Cease from your works as God did from His and enter into the rest of Christ.

Neglecting the importance of the mind of Christ will lead you astray from God. How can you answer the question “What would Christ do?” without the Holy Spirit? He wants to fill you with His thoughts. Be still and listen for the voice of God.

Understand the righteousness of God comes by faith and has nothing to do with your own efforts. The holiness of God comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Do not dismiss the power of Satan. He is a work to destroy you. Put on the full armor of God and be alert!

God never changes! Do not allow any teaching which deviates from the Word of Christ to enter your mind or heart.

Reject all secular views of society and the attempts of religion to compromise the Word of Christ. Build your foundation on Christ alone and nothing else.

He lives so you can live!

The freedom of Christ is to be the person God created!

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.” John 17:16

The word from God today is to accept the freedom of Christ.

IMG_1258

You might think you lose all your freedom living with Christ and will become encumbered under laws and works. Nothing can be further from the truth. Christ sets you free to experience an abundant life.

Here are some of the attributes of Christ for those who walk by faith living under the authority of Christ:

Delight yourself in Christ and He promises to give you the desires of your heart. His ways are perfect!

You have a freedom to rest in Christ knowing He will provide for your every need. There is no striving in those who walk with Christ.

The spiritual person has the mind of Christ through the efficacy of Holy Spirit. He provides wisdom, direction, and the ability to judge all things.

Worship Christ in Spirit and Truth without becoming entangled in laws, works, or religion.

The peace of Christ will be with you regardless of the adversities of life.

You can live in the world and enjoy the luxuries of life without becoming tarnished by evil.

You become filled with the life of Christ and develop a thirst for more of Him.

The freedom of Christ brings accountability. Christ will always point you back to the ordinary and sometimes unpleasant duties of life. He calls you to be accountable in all your actions.

Your unyielding faith in God will bring the rewards of Christ. He delights in giving you more than you ask or think.

Cast your burdens upon Christ and He will give you freedom from the worries of life and sustain you with His strength.

The Spirit filled believer is a light for Christ. This happens through the freedom and spontaneity of the Holy Spirit.

The freedom of Christ is the gift of salvation for all who come to Him by faith!

Finding the symmetry of Christ for today!

There is a way that seems right to a man but it leads to destruction. This is why you need the Spirit of Christ at work in your life!

Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 7:12

This sounds kind of simple but it is impossible to do without the Spirit of Christ.

IMG_1257

You and I have been engineered to live for self. There is unending conflict within you between living for self and walking with God.

You will never be able to please God unless you learn to yield to the Holy Spirit. He is like a seeing eye dog guiding the blind.

The Holy Spirit checks your motives and purifies your thoughts and words. This is how you can fulfill this precious oracle of God.

Each day you and I have to make a decision to live by the Spirit of Christ or live for self. And, sometimes you have to make this decision numerous times during the course of a day.

Are you satisfying a desire of the flesh or walking with God? This is a difficult question and the answer comes from the depth of your heart and soul.

The revelation will not come to you through human wisdom or logic but by yielding to the Holy Spirit. He knows you better than you know yourself.

God wants to bless your desires and give you a rewarding day. He also wants you to be a light for Christ.

How do you create this perfect symmetry with Christ?

Commit your works each day to Christ and ask Him to fill you with His thoughts. Pray for wisdom and the order of Christ to prevail in your day.

Invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life and keep you on track with Christ.

These actions will allow you to be a light for Christ and treat others like you want to be treated.

The ways of Christ are perfect!

Examining your attitude about Christ!

It’s really an attitude of all or nothing in understanding the heart of Christ!

The word from God today is “I don’t want a superficial relationship. I want all of you without restrictions.”

You cannot please God with a cursory attitude or lifestyle about Him.

IMG_1256

Christ lives without boundaries and will not allow you to define Him. You and I tend to question or defy the jurisdiction of Christ.

If you are a believer, Christ is alive and lives within you. He wants you to walk with Him by faith and invite Him to live in every aspect of your life.

Christ wants to fulfill your every need. He does not want you to look elsewhere for help. This is the defining quality of a believer. He seeks out God for His every need through prayer, the Word of God, and listening to the Holy Spirit.

The spiritual person walks by faith believing in the sovereignty of Christ–He is a God of greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty. These are not just words but come from a personal witness with the Living Christ.

When trouble comes your way or a special need arises, God wants you to come to Him. Christ is a complete God. He died to give you an abundant life. Many times He is our last resort for help after all else fails. How do you think this makes God feel?

The superficial believer attempts to control God! Or, appease Him through works or religion. The spiritual person lives for God with a genuine desire to know Christ.

For in Him, we live and move and have our being. This is the essence of a disciple of Christ. Nothing else matters!

The immediacy of Christ!

Faith is oblivious to the conditions of life. It is an unyielding confidence in God and belief in His promises!

But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord;
He is their strength in the time of trouble.” Psalm 37:39

The word from God today is “I am the Living Christ and desire to meet you today at your point of need.”

IMG_1255

You cannot fully understand Christ or approach Him through logic or predictability. He is an esoteric God so don’t try and figure out His ways. Or, try to appease Him through works or religion.

Christ lives in heaven and rules with power and dominion over all things. So how can you and I find Christ today?

You can touch the Living Christ through the Holy Spirit who dwells in all believers. Worship Christ in Spirit and Truth and you will discover the reality of our omnipotent God.

The purpose of a believer is to walk by faith trusting implicitly in the promises of Christ. Nothing else really matters.

The salvation of a believer is from the Lord. It is a method of living with God. He is your strength in time of trouble and promises to help you.

God wants to rescue you from the evils of the world. Reach out to God with an open heart and He will deliver you. This is an infallible truth from the heart of God.

God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He keeps His Word. The promises of God are sealed in the blood of Christ.

Hitting a brick wall with Christ!

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” 2 Corinthians 3:17

The Lord relates to you and I through the Holy Spirit. He lives in you and guides you into the pathway of Christ. He fills you with the peace of Christ and gives you the freedom to walk with God and enjoy life.

If there is some area of your life where there is no freedom or peace you are probably overstepping the boundaries of the Holy Spirit.

IMG_1254

Striving, feeling stress, or encountering failure are symptoms you are out of sync with God. The Spirit of the Lord is not with you.

This is the perfect time to go before God and repent of your actions and pray for wisdom and protection. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the path of Christ and keep you away from distractions that inhibit the freedom of Christ.

There may not be anything morally wrong with what you are doing but it might not be acceptable with God for His unique reasons.

Sometimes it is impossible to understand the logic of God. And, God may choose not to give you an explanation for His actions. The spiritual response is to just accept that He is God and can do as He wants with your life.

Give Christ whatever is causing the disruption in your life. Place it on the altar of Christ and leave it in His hands. It now belongs to Christ until He chooses to release it back to you.

This action will immediately bring the freedom and peace of Christ back into your life through work of the Holy Spirit.

It is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit!

How does Christ measure your productivity?

A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.” Luke 13:6

You and I are very much like the fig tree.

IMG_1253

God looks at your productivity measured by the Living Water flowing out of your heart. This is the love, joy, and peace of Christ.

If there is an absence of the Living Water, God threatens to cut you down like the fig tree. In His eyes you are no longer useful.

Christ Jesus is a merciful God. He says “I see this person is not fruitful but I will loosen the hardness of heart and nourish him with My life.”

If this doesn’t work after a while, then God will allow the person to be cut down like the fig tree.

The Spirit of God will not always strive with the spirit of man. If you continue to refuse God, He will eventually deal with you like the fig tree.

The productivity of Christ comes to those who are anchored in the tree of life. If you are in Christ you will be productive in your marriage, your relationships with others, and your work.

The productivity comes from the Holy Spirit who fills you with the strength, wisdom, and joy of Christ.

The productivity of Christ is the reflection of the Living Water in your every endeavor. Your faith in Christ is manifested in your words, actions, and demeanor. People see the Living Christ at work in your life.

He lives so you can live!

So you want to be like Christ!

Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him” Hebrews 5:8-9

Jesus was born as the Son of God and lived a perfect life without sin. But Jesus was not born with an understanding of obedience. He had to learn obedience through the trials of His life.

IMG_1252

The suffering of the Cross taught Jesus the purpose of obedience to His Father.

Jesus knew He was created in the form of God but He did not make it His goal to be equal to God. He did not strive for the greatness or glory of God.

Jesus agreed to empty Himself by taking the form of a servant born in the likeness of man. And, a servant is not above his master.

The lesson in the role model of Jesus is learning obedience to God is your purpose in life. And, you learn obedience through the trials of life.

What is obedience to God?

It is not seeking the greatness or glory of God or trying to become like God. This is how Satan failed God and led to the demise of Adam and Eve.

Obedience is seeking the will of God through the trials of life. You cannot find God living in a perfect utopia of prosperity, health, and success.

You have to become a servant of Christ for His purposes. God has to empty your self nature and fill you with the life of Christ.

To become “Christ Like” your motives have to be in sync with God. This requires learning to worship Christ in Spirit and Truth and inviting the Holy Spirit to live in every moment of your life. Then you will come to know the Living Christ.

When you become a servant with no ambition other than to please God you are ready to do the work of Christ.

The greatness sin is thinking you can be like God. Make your goal to be a humble servant of God seeking His will not yours!

The biggest deception in Christianity!

Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” Galatians 3:11

The biggest deception in Christianity is believing “If I do good works for God, He is entitled to bless me.”

IMG_1251

There is no obligation on the part of Christ to bless you because of your good works or efforts to conform to the laws of God.

You can’t earn a pay check from God. It comes by your unyielding faith in Christ expressed through your thoughts, words and actions.

The laws of God live in the hearts of believers through the indwelling Holy Spirit. It is by faith yielding to the Spirit of Christ that enables a believer to live a life pleasing to God.

The works ethic of pleasing God died on the Cross. The favor of Christ comes to those who live by faith. If you attempt to live under the laws of God you will fall under the curse of the law.

The righteous shall live by faith!
