Why is it so difficult to walk with God?

It is so easy to switch gears from Jesus to the temptations of the world. The Holy Spirit keeps you in perfect stride with God!

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:25

You cannot think of God as someone you spend time with at church on Sunday or first thing each morning. The world is too complex with evil temptations and the desires of your flesh.

That they may be one even as we are one!

It is vital to your spiritual life to develop the mindset that God lives in you and build an awareness and closeness with the Holy Spirit. This is the discipline of living each day in oneness with Jesus through His Spirit.

The point of walking with God is understanding He is your best friend and wants to help you navigate successfully through each day dealing with all the details of life such as what you eat or drink, exercise plans, finances, work requirements and relationships with family and friends.

Walking with God is a moment by moment discipline yielding to the Holy Spirit. God doesn’t want you to be a robot. He wants to help you to be productive and make healthy and safe decisions.

You can still enjoy the spontaneity of life because you have the mind of Christ and know God will wave the red flag if you start to pursue a wrong course of action.

Jesus is the Living Christ and desires to have a personal and vibrant relationship with you. He lives today so you can have an abundant life. If you close Him out of certain areas of your life, you are opening the door to Satan which can lead to misery and ruin.

You cannot take life for granted! It is filled with too many perils and temptations which you cannot escape from on your own.

Your only hope is in Christ Jesus who died to bless the desires of your heart and give you more than you ask or think.

Jesus is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him!

Facing the judgments of God!

Then the Lord said to me, “Do not pray for the well-being of this people. Although they fast, I will not listen to their cry; though they offer burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Instead, I will destroy them with the sword, famine and plague.” Jeremiah 14:11-12

The judgment of God is over the Body of Christ. Everything is not perfect or close to right in the heart of God.

IMG_0902

We do not fear or respect God and have watered down the truths of God to make them compatible with our changing society.

The Body of Christ approaches God with a half hearted attitude. They do not take God seriously. It is grievous to see there is little difference between a believer and a non believer.

The leaders ignore the retribution of God and promote a message of the love, peace, and kindness of God.

You can go through the motions of prayer, fasting, and offering sacrifices to God but they will not be accepted.

God is at work to punish the Body for our sins and there will be widespread destruction and misery. No one is immune from this wave of judgment.

The call from God is to return to Christ Jesus with a heart of repentance and open yourself up to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

God wants your devotion to Him above all things. He wants you to worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

God wants you to come into a relationship with the Living Christ and dwell intimately with Him. The priority is knowing Christ Jesus and seeking out His values for your life.

You cannot substitute religion or works in place of walking by faith with the Son of God.

The call of Jesus is to come to Him by faith and ask the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life.

Doubting God!

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Hebrews 10:23

Faith is believing in the promises of God. It is trusting God to meet your every challenge in life. Faith never looks at the present. It is believing God calls things that don’t exist as if they did.

IMG_0967
Without faith it is impossible to please God!

God is omnipotent and has power and dominion over the heavens and earth. He desires to give you an abundant life and bless the desires of your heart. The question is do you accept the character of God during both the good times and the difficulties of life?

What happens to believers is they experience various trials and tribulations and begin to doubt God. They don’t see God at work in their lives and fall into unbelief. They are judging God on their circumstances and not on His Word.

God never changes. Your faith in God should never waver if you live in His promises and walk with unyielding faith.

Doubt surfaces in your life because you are choosing to live in your problems and not the promises of God.

Let’s face reality! You and I are human beings and have a range of emotions. It is inevitable you will have to deal with the trials of life and they will most likely cause you to react with feelings of anger, fear or doubt.

The Spirit filled believer accepts his human frailties and prays for the resilience and patience of God to help recover quickly when his faith lapses into unbelief.

Ask God to share His faith with you so can walk with confidence and assurance in the promises of God and stay grounded in Christ Jesus!

Doubting God is a sign of unbelief! Walk with God by faith trusting He will do for you what you can never do for yourself.

Nothing is impossible with God!

Delineating the life of a believer!

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.” Romans 8:14

God woke me up a few nights ago to speak to me about this subject. I have attempted to share His thoughts as accurately as possible in this message. God also reiterated the importance of taking Him seriously.

Christianity has secularized the gospel to define the terms of a believer. They have stratified society by a series of laws and regulations to define a believer from a non believer. You must conform to these laws or you are ostracized from belonging to their religious sect.

There is a sense of privilege or elite standing with God. The reality of a believer is you die to self and live for God. You esteem others above yourself.

The Holy Spirit is virtually lost or greatly minimized in Christianity. The Spirit is your lifeline to God and essential to walking with Jesus.

Christianity looks good on the outside but is riddled by deceit and corruption on the inside.

The practice of “two timing” God is widespread in the Body of Christ. Believers date God on Sundays and then date the gods/idols of the world during the week. They practice a life of hypocrisy and make a mockery of almighty God.

There is a stubborn refusal to come under the authority of God. The comfort in Christianity is living by laws and works. This won’t disrupt your life like interacting with the reality of the Living Christ.

The criteria for a disciple of Christ is one who walks with God and is led by the Spirit. The priority of a disciple is knowing Christ Jesus and living for Him.

The disciple lives in oneness with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. He lives by faith trusting in the promises of God. He is justified to God by faith and is free from religion and laws.

The Spirit brings freedom and the life of God!

The inevitable nature of God!

The life of a believer accepts the inevitable nature of God believing He calls things that don’t exist as if they did!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

The definition of inevitable is certain to happen.

IMG_0965

How can you and I deal with this characteristic of God? If you are a believer you will live with God forever but this doesn’t help those who are trying to live and prosper on the earth.

The starting point is to contrast the world with the nature of God. The world is a whirlwind of ups and downs. There is no perfect life and nothing is inevitable except for death. You cannot trust the world. It is not built on the foundation of God and will disappoint you.

The difference between the world and God is the inevitable truths of God. You can trust the promises of God because they will always come to fruition. God is perfect and He never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You can have faith in God because His Word is eternal. Your security is in the promises of God.

The underlying principle of God is to seek Him first and all the other things of life will follow. You seek God by accepting the promises of Jesus, the Son of God, by faith.

The gift of salvation is living with Christ Jesus in a personal and vibrant relationship. Salvation is the life of Jesus at work in you today.

You live by faith in the Son of God by filling yourself with His Word and never judging God by your circumstances. God lives above your life so you have to be grounded in the life of Jesus Christ. This is where you will find reality and security.

What is inevitable about Christ Jesus is He places the Holy Spirit inside you and wants you to find your strength through His life. The invisible God becomes your best friend and is the source to fulfill your every need.

Salvation is appropriating the truths of God into your life today. My God will supply your every need according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.

Jesus is inevitable! You can call on Him for your every need. He will never disappoint you! He is a living God!

What creates a deep thirst for God?

“My soul thirsts for you.” Psalm 63:1

This happens when you meet the Living God and experience His greatness and glory. He enfolds you with His love and compassion which is unlike anything in the world. You see how insignificant you are compared to almighty God.

IMG_0929

You understand God wants to be your best friend and give you an abundant life.

Jesus replaces the thirst for the things of the world. You see they are temporary and He is eternal.

You drink the Living Water because it satisfies your soul and gives you something you can never find in the world.

You understand God is invincible and your only hope for life.

God lives above the evils and filth of the world and offers you a place of holiness and purity that you cannot attain anywhere else.

God loves you and wants you to live with Him forever. There is no one like Him!

IMG_0838

“Come drink My Living Water and your life will never be the same! I will show you My greatness and glory and dwell in you through My Spirit. I live so you can live!”

Come meet the Living Christ!

The Living Water is My life. It begins in you when you come to Me and will lead you to a life of eternity with Me.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11

The whole concept of Christianity is to understand Christ lives in you through His Spirit. You are helpless and lack power without the Holy Spirit. It is impossible to grasp the truths of God without the illumination of the Holy Spirit.

IMG_0964

If you choose to reject the Holy Spirit, it is like living in a vacuum. Jesus will just be a figure in the Bible. He will never come alive!

It is impossible to be a disciple of Jesus without the power of the Holy Spirit. Your words and actions will lack power and produce fruitless results.

Jesus wants you to live in oneness with Him and experience the fullness of His life. He died so you can live through His resurrected power.

There is no mystique about the Holy Spirit. He is the person of Jesus in the essence of a Spirit. The Holy Spirit fills you with the life of Jesus. He is your source of love, joy, strength, and hope for life.

It is very simple to find the reality of Christ. Just invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life. It will be like turning on a bright light in a dark room. You will be alive with Christ!

Your life will change from drudgery and impotency to the power of the Living Christ!

There is no one who can compare to Christ Jesus. He truly desires to be your benefactor and best friend!

Breaking free from the shackles of religion!

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law? For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman.” Galatians 4:21-22

There are two covenants established by God. You can understand them through the life of Abraham.

IMG_0961

The first covenant administered under the law was between God and those who are born of the flesh. Abraham was an old man and did not have any children. He chose to have a child through Hagar, who was a slave. This child did not come by faith in God and the child was born under the bondage of the law. Hagar and her son were not heirs of God and did not come from the lineage of God’s covenant with Abraham.

The second covenant comes to those who live by faith in Christ Jesus. God made a promise to Abraham. He would have an heir. This son born through a promise from God is free from all laws and is an heir to God.

As believers, you and I come from the lineage of Abraham. We are free from the restrictions of religion and laws and are called to live with God by faith in His promises.

You have to make a choice in dealing with God. You can live by religion and laws which will bring you into bondage or you can live by faith in Christ Jesus who will set you free.

Jesus died on the Cross to abolish all laws and regulations. You can only come to Jesus by faith trusting Him for your every need. There is no other way.

Jesus will set you free and allow you to experience the reality of the kingdom of God!

Without faith it is impossible to please God!

Taking God seriously!

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” Romans 8:12-13

On my walk today, the Holy Spirit spoke to me about passivity in the body of Christ. This is an attitude of accepting life without any active response or accountability. It is a lackluster approach to living and reflects apathy towards God’s precepts.

IMG_0959

If you are a believer, you have an obligation to God. You are in debt to God for giving you the gift of eternal life.

Jesus purchased your salvation with His blood. He died so you can live free from the bondage of sin and experience the transfigured life.

If you choose to live by the flesh you are making a mockery of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. This attitude leads to sin and eventual death. In reality, you are defying Jesus and will have to face the consequences of your actions.

The miracle of salvation is God lives in you and desires for you to live through Him. You do this by yielding to the Holy Spirit and following His leading.

The Holy Spirit crucifies the desires of the flesh and gives you the ability to live in oneness with Jesus.

It is of upmost importance to recognize the Holy Spirit is alive in you and to invite Him to have authority in every aspect of your life.

The Holy Spirit will become your mentor and guardian. He will transform you from a weak and impassive believer to a powerful disciple of Christ filled with His resurrected life!

Finding vindication through Christ Jesus!

You have been judged and found guilty by God. You can only be exonerated by accepting the Son of God by faith.

Let my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right.” Psalm 17:2

The definition of vindication is to be cleared from an accusation.

IMG_0662

You and I stand accused by God as unholy people with a corrupt inner being. You can never live up to the standards of God. No matter how hard you try, or practice religion, or do good works you have been “sold under sin”. This means you are unacceptable to God in your present condition.

The laws of God are perfect but you cannot keep them. They accuse you of your imperfection and inadequacy before God. The laws bring condemnation upon you because you see your failure in the eyes of God.

The challenge is to face your sins and find a way to live a godly life. You can ask Jesus to forgive you but you will still keep on sinning because you were born with an inner condition which desires to live for self. You are in a hopeless situation with no way out!

How can you get out of this dilemma? You can only be vindicated by God through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus will cover all your sins with His blood and restore you to God.

The miracle of salvation is you become “born again” through the Water and Spirit. This dynamic creates a new creature in Christ Jesus. The Water washes away your sinful past and the Spirit creates new life. You die to self and live for God.

God recognizes your inability to live a life pleasing to Him so He places the life of Jesus (in the essence of the Holy Spirit) to reside within you. This gives you the ability to live blameless before God.

The dilemma of sin still exists in you. God does not take away your fleshly condition but He gives you a choice to live yielding to the Spirit or to live through your flesh.

Your vindication through Christ Jesus offers you eternal hope and gives you the ability to live in oneness with almighty God.
