“But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt
bountifully with me.” Psalm 13:5-6

Waiting on God can be very difficult and painful. The days and years pass and you see your family and friends blessed by God and you suffer in deprivation.

The rich live a lavish lifestyle and celebrate while you struggle just to make ends meet. You feel like you have been forgotten and are wasting away.

You cry out to God and He remains silent or tells you to trust Him and wait for the salvation of the Lord.

David knew that only God could change his destiny and He rejoiced in God and praised Him with songs.

David believed God would do great things for him and raise him up from the despair and gloom of his life.

God is merciful and just! He has made a promise to provide you with an abundant life and give you more than you ask or think.

The Word of God is more precious and valuable than all the gold in the world. It is perfect and will never fail you.

God keeps His Word. The essence of God is His Word and He never changes!

“None is righteous, no, not one” Romans 3:10

When you come face to face with God there is an immediate clash between sin and the purity of God. You come under the microscope of God and He undresses you. Nothing is hidden and you see yourself for who you are. It is not a pretty picture!

There is a lifelong tension between God and self over sin. You think you’ve got it down only to find out how lacking you are and unworthy to be in the presence of God.

You fall down and God picks you up again. It is a growing process with God. You are saved by the grace of God and not by your works. There is no self merit in the eyes of God.

God is merciful and understands the fallacy of man. Your faith in God will bring His purity and righteousness into your life. Faith comes by seeking God out for all your needs and being obedient to the voice of God.

You can never change yourself into a godly person but God can transform you into a new person in Christ Jesus.

It just requires a willing heart and desire to follow God.

“For who is God, but the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God” Psalm 18:31

“From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalm 61:2

God is a rock that cannot be moved or shaken. His Words are eternal and bring life.

There is one God and no one can compare to Him. When you are overwhelmed with fear or crushed by the pressures of the world, there is One who is higher than all things waiting for you to call on Him. He is the Lord and is filled with goodness.

Nothing is impossible with God. He has conquered sin and death and wants the very best for you. His name is above all things. He is a God of infinite greatness.

God will never fail you or leave you. He is the only thing you can trust. The world will fade away but God is eternal.

“I have come to give you an abundant life and bless the desires of your heart. My ways are perfect. Lean on Me and reject the wisdom of the world. I am greater than the world. I am a rock that will never disappoint you. My name is God.”

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

Jesus defined the work of ministry in this Bible verse and it has very little to do with religion.

Religion stifles the work of God! It leads to a works doctrine and confines you from stepping out as a disciple for Jesus.

Religion takes away the freedom of the Holy Spirit and replaces it with a system of laws (do’s and don’ts). You become justified by what you do and not by your faith in almighty God.

As a believer, you are responsible to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. You have the Holy Spirit living in you and the anointing of God over you to be His disciple.

You are called to bind evil from the earth and this work of righteousness will carry over to heaven. You bind evil through prayer, intercession, and standing in the gap to bring down Satan’s strongholds. You confront evil and wrong actions in your home, at school, in the workplace, or wherever life takes you.

You stand up for what is right and take no part in the darkness of the world. Your tools are faith in God, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and prayer.

You loose the goodness of God through the fruit of the Spirit touching those people in your life and leading non believers to Jesus Christ. The salvation of the Lord will also carry over to heaven. The work is started on the earth and is perfected in heaven.

You do not have to go looking for your ministry. God will bring it to you. The authentic works of God are accomplished by prayer, intercession and the action of the Holy Spirit.

You become a powerful role model for others through your words, your actions, and your demeanor. People see God in you and this changes lives. They want what you have!

Salvation comes from God! You are His ambassador to introduce Jesus to others.

“Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
Through God we will do valiantly,
For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.” Psalm 60:11-12

This Psalm was written by David who felt defeated by all the troubles surrounding him. David was confused and broken in spirit. God had seemed to abandon him. He cried out to the Lord because he knew this was his only hope. David realized the help of man was useless and only God can deliver a victory.

When trouble arises in your life turn to almighty God for wisdom and protection. He delights in rescuing believers who trust in Him and reject the ways of the world.

God is perfect and honors those who believe in His name. The victory will come to you but God wants the glory and for all to see His hand at work.

David defeated 12,000 Edomites and gave all the glory to God. He is a God of victory. Never give up or doubt God!

“Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more” Romans 5:20

The laws of the Old Covenant were enacted to demonstrate to all people that they were in rebellion against God and living for self.

The law was like a bright light exposing sin and the weak and corrupt inner nature of mankind. The law identified sin and proved that it is impossible to please God by works and sacrifices.

Where sin increased and could not be stopped, God created a perfect solution to deal with sin. It was the love of God at work to save His creation. God demonstrated His love by sending Jesus, His son, to the earth as an offering for sin.

This expression of love by God gives you the ability to be forgiven for all your sins and restored to God. The cross gives you the freedom to live a life pleasing to God.

God saw the hopelessness of life and the need for you to have a new identity. The act of confessing your faith in Jesus gives you new life. Your old self has died with Jesus on the cross and the Holy Spirit lives within you.

The cross is a watershed of new life and opens the door for you to receive the unlimited attributes of God. It is your act of faith that will bring the righteousness of God.

Sin will never have dominion over you and God will work endlessly to purify you with His nature!

“Come unto me” Matthew 11:28

 

Jesus is calling you to be one with Him at all times. The spiritually mature believer does not allow self interest or the worries of the world to take him away from God. He is yoked to God with a bond that cannot be broken.

This bond is built on faith in God, prayer, and absorbing the Word of God into your life. You become united to God through His Spirit living within you. Your priority is always to be in the will of God at any cost.

You hear the voice of God and learn to be obedient to His leading without having a rational explanation from God.

Abraham heard God and obeyed at a great cost. He gave up his homeland, inheritance, and security to venture out with God into no man’s land. He became the father of many nations and was blessed mightily by God.

When you meet the living God the characteristic of self sufficiency disappears from your life because you understand your Maker will give you a better life than you can ever give yourself. It becomes God’s responsibility to meet all your needs because you have abandoned yourself to Him and are resting in Him.

Humility replaces pride because you see yourself for who you are and recognize how weak and lacking you are compared to God.

You need to reach the point where you know in the deepest part of your heart that your help comes from the Lord who created the heaven and earth.

 

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Faith is believing in what you can’t see or touch. God calls things that don’t exist as if they did. This is how He creates all things.

You have to live in the invisible world of God trusting Him for all your needs. God wants you to be totally dependent on Him for everything you need or desire.

During your journey with God you faith will be be perfected and strengthened by the hand of God. This is a lifelong process and is accomplished by prayer, absorbing yourself in the Word of God, and staying yoked to God through His Spirit.

If you do not draw near to God you will be like a ship tossed to and fro in a stormy ocean. Or, you can be anchored to a mountain with unlimited strength.

Faith is trusting the promises of God to come to fruition in your life. The Word of God is eternal and will never change regardless of your circumstances.

The Word is the only thing you can trust in the world. It is invincible, alive, and powerful.

God operates on the principle of faith. This is how you will meet the living God. Faith is placing your life in the hand of God and abandoning yourself to Him.

He will never disappoint you!

“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:17

There is a war taking place today between God and Satan. This is an invisible war but you are very vulnerable. Satan desires to destroy anything that relates to Jesus Christ. He works through his army of demons and human beings who are not anchored to God.

This war is not about personalities. It is about God against Satan and you are a target. It is an insidious attack against every aspect of our society.

Satan is launching a vicious attack against the Word of God. Satan wants to outlaw the Word of God in our society. He also wants to demean and destroy the name of Jesus.

If you are a believer, Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy. Your only hope is to fight back with the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. When evil threatens you, speak directly to Satan with the Word of God. Tell Satan that He has been defeated by the blood of Jesus and to flee from your life.

These bible verses are also powerful weapons against Satan:

“And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Malachi 3:11

“Submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Satan can only operate within the boundaries that God establishes in your life. At times, God will allow Satan to tempt you so you must resist all evil and stay yoked to God.

Look at the role model of Jesus! God allowed Jesus to be tempted three times by Satan and Jesus rebuked Him by speaking the Word of God.

The most important thing to remember is Satan is terrified by the name of Jesus. He is your protection against all evil.

Pray each day for God to put a mighty hedge of protection around your life and family.

“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:13-14

You can have the riches of the world but they will never satisfy you. You will just want more and you will still be unable to find a deep sense of peace and satisfaction. The world will never quench your thirst. You can get a quick fix but it will fade away and the inner void will return.

You were created in the image of God and the only way you can find sustaining peace and contentment is to have God living inside you.

The moment you make a commitment to God you are filled with the Holy Spirit. This is living water and contains all the nourishment required to have an abundant life-love, joy, peace, patience, strength and all of the fullness of God. This reservoir of water is endless and available to you at anytime.

Jesus is the source of the living water but you must go to God with a heart of repentance and a desire to live a life pleasing to Him. Sin diminishes the flow of the living water but if you confess your sins He is faithful and just to forgive you and purify you with His righteousness.

The gift of God is eternal life and can begin for you today! Drink the living water and your life will never be the same! He is a loving and merciful God!
