What really ticks off God!

“We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” Numbers 13:31

This was the report from the spies sent by God into the Promised Land.

God made a promise to the Israelites but they fell into unbelief. They accepted what they saw with their eyes. They rejected the power of God to defeat the strong and well fortified tribes living in the land of Canaan.

They complained bitterly about God and wanted to stone Moses and Aaron for leading them into disaster.

God keeps His promises but the obstacles may seem impossible from a human point of view. If it was easy to accomplish the promises of God who would get the glory. The promise is made built upon the strength and power of God to bring a victory. He wants all the glory while you praise Him.

God wants to demonstrate to you that His promises cannot be achieved by human strength or wisdom. The promises come by faith and resting in the power of God.

The promises of God are insurmountable for a human being. Faith is trusting God to deliver you and never accepting what you see with your eyes.

This is why we walk with God. He can do for you what you can never do for yourself.

Your unbelief can cause you to forfeit the promises of God and face the punishment of an angry God. Do you really want to wander in the desert for forty years?

Engaging Jesus!

This is relatively easy if you are serious about God.

Jesus controls the universe. He has power and dominion over all things. He is not an aloof or distant God.

Jesus wants you to engage Him. He lives in Heaven but has a powerful presence in the world and in the life of believers.

If you engage Jesus it has to be on His terms.

He desires to have a personal and embracing relationship with you. Jesus will speak to you and share His powerful attributes with you.

Jesus wants you to walk in oneness with Him. He wants you to seek the will of God for your life. Jesus wants you to be submissive to Him. Start each day with Jesus and follow in His footsteps.

The world is in the hands of Satan. God wants to protect you from evil.

Engage Jesus by making a commitment to live for Him above all else. This requires you to have an open heart to God.

Jesus wants you to live under His authority. This starts with developing a fear and respect for God.

The Christ follower is sealed with the Holy Spirit. He is the life of Jesus and your link to God. Wherever you go today or whatever you are facing the Holy Spirit is with you. He is your source of strength, wisdom, joy and protection.

Walk with Jesus by yielding to the Holy Spirit. Stay in constant communication with Him and listen to His voice. He speaks for God.

Religion will stifle your walk with God and take away your freedom. Jesus hates religion. He wants a one on one relationship with you built on faith in His promises.

Jesus is a living God and desires to impact every aspect of your life. He does not want to be left out from your plans and actions.

You will never be able to fully understand Jesus and His ways will seem unpredictable and controversial at times. The value of Jesus is He keeps His promises and you can live with Him forever.

Getting sidetracked following Jesus!

But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Galatians 3:11

This is a straightforward instruction from God. It does not need any interpretation. You cannot circumvent this instruction through keeping laws or doing works. Religion will never give you the righteousness of God.

Living by faith is the only method to please God. It is a lifestyle that governs your every thought, you words, and your decision making.

Living by faith is trusting the promises of God and not what you see with your eyes. Your unwavering faith will fill you with the righteousness of God. Nothing else matters.

Faith is reaching out to God in prayer for your every need. You simply lay your needs on the altar of God and then let go. Your needs are in the hands of God.

God is your deliverer. You wait on Him with patience and thanksgiving.

Secondly, God wants you to listen to His voice with a heart of obedience. This is faith in action. God speaks and you obey regardless of the challenges of the world or lack of human logic. God tells you to move to a foreign country. You move.

God does not have to justify His instructions. He wants your obedience without questioning Him.

God is supernatural. He has power and dominion over the heavens and earth. There is no one like Him.

You and I cannot think or act like God. We have to live in submission to Jesus by faith. Commit your works each day to God and pray for wisdom. Invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life.

Don’t complicate your walk with Jesus through religion. Live by faith and respond in obedience to the instructions of Jesus.

The outrage of Jesus!

“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

What is stirring up the heart of Jesus? The answer is in the biblical text above and how we interpret building a foundation on Jesus. Satisfying the indulgences of the flesh has corrupted our priorities.

We do not build our foundation exclusively on Jesus. We compromise the foundation with the pursuit of money, living for self, sexual immorality, and a permissive attitude over new laws and liberal views which contradict the oracles of God. We make religion our God and living in oneness with Jesus becomes a secondary priority to keeping laws and doing works.

Jesus created the foundation of life for a believer on the Cross. There is no substitute. Anything you attempt to substitute in place of Jesus will burn up and have no lasting value.

Your foundation must be built on accepting and living in the gift of salvation. Jesus must be the cornerstone of all your thoughts, words and actions.

Your foundation must be impervious to the ways of the world. Do not allow false teaching or the worship of idols to creep into your foundation.

Building your foundation on Jesus!

Lay your foundation on Jesus by waking up each day seeking the will of God through prayer and listening for His voice.

Walk by faith trusting in the promises of Jesus and not by what you see with your eyes.

Invite the Holy Spirit to have authority over your life and yield to the teaching and wisdom of the Spirit of God.

Live under the cover of the blood of Jesus.

Be transparent with God opening your heart up to correction and change.

Jesus never changes. If you want to walk with Jesus you have to be willing to change and adopt His values in your life.

If you follow the principles above you will elate the heart of God and live under His favor.

Jesus is a living reality!

Jesus is a Living God. He desires to have a personal and embracing relationship with you. He wants to be involved in every detail of your life. He wants all of you. There are no secret places to hide living with Jesus. He is omniscient and sees everything about you. Jesus knows you better than you know yourself. He sees all your personality flaws some of which are hidden from your eyes.

Jesus offers a living salvation filled with strength, wisdom, joy and protection. Jesus created you in His image. He knew you before you were born. Jesus died to give you a life you can never achieve on your own.

The danger of taking a disappearing act from God!

“That all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty, that you may fear the Lord your God forever.” Joshua 4:24

This is about keeping centered on God above all else. Jesus wants to be honored and feared in all the moments of your life today. There is a direct relationship between dwelling in the presence of God and the safeguards of the impunity in God.

Joshua was leading the Israelites to the Promised Land guided by the hand of God. They approached the Jordan River and God ordered a pause in their trip. He told Joshua to select twelve men, one from each tribe, to pick up a large stone from the river and carry it across to the other side.

Joshua then built a memorial out of the stones to remind the Israelites to honor and fear God forever.

God knew the Israelites would forget about this miracle and fall into panic, fear and the worship of false gods. This story confirms how important God feels about living in His presence with fear and respect.

The word from God today is impunity which means exemption or freedom from punishment, harm, or loss. If you want the impunity of God you must live in oneness with Jesus at all times. You can’t forget God at times and expect to receive His protection. Walking with God is a 24 hour/7 day a week assignment without timeouts.

Learn to be consistent and steady in dealing with God. He wants you to reach out to Him in prayer, praise Him for who He is and listen for His voice. Seek the will of God by faith yielding to the Holy Spirit. Meditate on the Word of God and ask Jesus to be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway.

Walk with God each day staying in His presence. Take timeouts to talk with Him when facing difficulties or making decisions.

God will never leave you but we tend to leave Him in the commotion and busyness of life. Jesus is a Living God and wants to give you a life you can never achieve on your own.

Seeing yourself like Jesus sees you!

But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” Yet the law is not of faith, but “the man who does them shall live by them.” Galatians 3:11-12

This is the cornerstone biblical principle dealing with how to walk with God but very few get it.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to on your own to be justified by God. This includes works or service, keeping laws, or participating in religious activities. They are of no value in building a relationship with God.

The just (or righteous) shall live by faith.

The law contradicts faith. The law requires you to earn your salvation. This is an insult to Jesus who died on the Cross.

If you choose to go this route you must keep every requirement of the Ten Commandments which no human being has ever been able to accomplish.

You and I are impoverished souls and we have no right to come before God. Nothing can change this barrier except for the blood of Christ and the redemption offered through the death of Jesus.

Salvation is a gift from God which you are undeserving to receive. Entitlement with God comes only by faith.

There is no obligation on the part of God to bless you because of your works. God will favor those who walk by faith believing in His promises regardless of the circumstances in their life.

You can never get right with God but He can make you blameless in His sight through the blood of Jesus. You will still have your sins, compulsions, and self indulgent behaviors. They will never go away but Jesus excuses your sins and sees you through the work of the Cross.

This is the gift of salvation!

Why Jesus is so hard to understand?

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” 1 Corinthians 2:12

The word of God today is esoteric referring to the wisdom of Jesus which can only be understood by a believer dwelling in the Holy Spirit.

God does not think or act like you. This makes it difficult to understand the ways of God and what He is trying to get across to you. The wisdom of the world is foolishness to God so He has to retrain your mind.

God will never make any sense until He speaks directly to His nature living inside you. The Holy Spirit teaches you the truths of God and reveals Christ to you. You have the mind of Christ and He wants to compare spiritual truths to spiritual life.

God wants to meet with you each day and be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway. God is omniscient so His wisdom is very valuable. Jesus offers protection and order to your life. He is a common sense God who wants to be involved in all the details of your life.

Religion interprets the wisdom of God through keeping laws and doing works. This is the farthest thing from the mind of God.

Jesus speaks through the Holy Spirit to teach you His values and bring glory to God.

You will never completely understand the truths of God but you can walk with Jesus by faith and hear His voice. You can live a life pleasing to God by abiding in the presence of Jesus.

Walk with God by faith believing in His promises, reach out to Him through prayer and read the Bible under the auspices of the Holy Spirit.

Most importantly, be obedient to the voice of God. A servant is not above his master.

Jesus will give you the strength and wisdom to get through today and face all your challenges. The future is hidden from you.

Jesus, the source of eclectic inspiration!

The Father and I are one. Come live with Me and I will take you to high places.

The word from God today is how to develop into an eclectic and well versed personality like Jesus.

The definition of an eclectic person is someone who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources. In the context of Jesus, the source of this wide ranging diversity is His Father.

Jesus is an eclectic personality because He lives in oneness with His Father, the Creator of the heavens and earth. He sees life through the eyes of God.

Jesus is a very innovative man filled with new ideas and fresh approaches to life. He is also enigmatic at times and unpredictable.

Jesus speaks powerful words originating in heaven.

Jesus was very eclectic during His ministry on earth. He taught the truths of God, healed thousands of people and performed many signs and wonders. Jesus walked on water, fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus turned water into a vintage wine.

Jesus does not want you to live in a box or get trapped in religion. He wants you to be free to experience new ways of living and expressing your devotion to Him.

Jesus wants to change your thinking patterns and He asks you to be open to a lifestyle of diversity and venturing in new directions.

Religion turns most people off but the authenticity of Jesus is life changing and eternal.

Jesus is warm and friendly. He speaks to you, fills you with His life, and transforms you into a new being.

Salvation is a new way of living. The world loses its appeal and Jesus becomes the centrality of your life. He takes you on a journey without giving you the ability to see a purpose or end goal.

Give Jesus authority over your life and walk with Him by faith. He will take you on an awesome and joy filled trip which has no ending!

The inexplicable Jesus!

Draw near to Me and I will draw near to you!

The word of God today is “inexplicable” which describes the character of Jesus. He cannot be explained or defined through the human mind. He is an unfathomable and mysterious God.

Jesus is not comparable to any living being and He does not think or act like you.

Jesus is holy and righteous. You can never come close to matching up to His standards.

It is impossible to really get to know Jesus until you make a decision to live for Him above all else.

He is a jealous God and wants all of you without compromise. If you minimize Jesus, He will minimize you.

Your relationship with Jesus is defined by sin. The conflict is between light and darkness. Jesus sees everything about you and He knows you better than you know yourself.

You have to accept your spiritual poverty if you want to go on with Jesus.

Come before Jesus every day with an open heart to correction and change. Your safety net is repentance and the blood of Jesus.

Jesus has power and dominion over the heavens and earth. The secret to walking with God is to cease from striving and rest in Him. It is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God.

When I met Jesus in person many years ago I was astonished to see He has no ego and never thinks about His own needs. This is so unlike you and I who are self driven human beings.

Jesus is unpredictable, controversial and His ways don’t make any sense to a human being. This is because His motives are designed to refine you into His character and He shapes your life to accomplish His purposes.

Jesus wants you live in His presence. You can do this through prayer, praising Him, and meditating on the Word of God.

Jesus desires to speak to you and infuse you with heavenly wisdom. If you are a believer, you have the mind of Christ.

Jesus desires to fill you with His supernatural attributes of strength, joy, protection, and peace.

Jesus will give you glimpses of His majesty and glory but you will never see the totality of our mighty God.

You will impress Jesus walking by faith and believing in His promises and not by what you see with your eyes.

Your unwavering faith in Jesus and obedience to His voice will transform you into His righteous character.

Jesus wants you to live under His authority without a road map detailing your future. You do this by submitting to the Holy Spirit who lives inside a believer.

Jesus reveals Himself to those who are willing to lay down their lives for Him.

Jesus is a down to earth God and can identify with all your emotions. He is friendly and wants a close and intimate relationship with you.

Jesus wants to do for you what you can never do for yourself.

Jesus is not asking you to do works for Him. This demeans His excellent reputation and sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus is asking you to let Him work through you.

The resurrected power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in a believer enables you to do the works of Jesus. And, all the glory goes to God!

You have to accept Jesus for who He is without proof. The proof will come as you walk by faith seeking the will of God.

How to walk with Jesus?

The word of God today is understanding the demarcation lines established by God in your life.

These are the boundaries of Christ that you must live in and move and have your being.

The boundaries are created by God and He is the only one who can change them.

The demarcation lines provide safety and protection. If you attempt to move outside the boundaries of God you will face adversity.

The boundaries represent the seasons of God. They may be filled with prosperity or depravation.

The boundaries are a training ground to learn the values of Christ and grow in spiritual maturity.

The Holy Spirit is sealed in a Christ follower. This is how you can walk in the footsteps of Jesus. Commit your works each day to God and live under the authority of the Spirit of Christ.

You have the mind of Christ. Listen for the voice of God and respond with obedience to His instructions.

Read the Bible under the auspices of the Holy Spirit and ask God to help you understand the revelations of Christ and how to live by the values of Jesus.

In the demarcation lines you will face the troubles of the world and the testing of God.

God desires for you to live by faith trusting in the promises of Jesus and not by what you see with your eyes. Without faith you cannot please God.

You will have to confront Satan and fight off His evil ways with the weapons of Christ. He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.

Pray vigilantly seeking the will of God.

Learn the principle of resting in God. It is not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of God. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

The Holy Spirit will baptize you with the fires of God and equip you to do His work while you wait patiently (like Moses) for your calling from God.

The reality of Christ!

You cannot walk with your Creator unless you have made a decision from the heart to live for Me above all else. I desire to have a personal, warm and embracing relationship with you built on trust. My ways are not your ways so you must submit to Me and live under the authority of My Spirit.
