Living out the innocuous character of Christ!

“Your best intentions will fail you unless you are abiding in My Spirit. You will fall into grievous habits without Me. Remember, I know you better than you know yourself!”

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5

The word from God today is “innocuous” and implies something not harmful or offensive.

IMG_1196

The challenge is how can you and I exhibit this behavior in our life? This is impossible without Christ and even with Him we slip up time and again.

We live in a world that is not under the authority of God and it is so easy to live for self and speak words or take actions that hurt others.

I find myself continually failing God in some way and praying for forgiveness, healing and restoration.

The only hope for finding the character of God is through the Spirit of Christ. Jesus knows you are imperfect and has provided the Holy Spirit to keep you on track with Him.

We tend to forget the Holy Spirit and allow our emotions to take control. This causes us to press the “self button” which will always lead to troubles.

Acknowledge the Holy Spirit in all your actions and ask Him to have authority in your life. He can do for you what you can never do for yourself. This is because you are living through His life.

Pray to the Holy Spirit often during your day seeking wisdom and clarity for all your actions.

Remember, the Spirit is with you at all times! He is your sanctuary to God! He lives so can live!

Easter, an invitation from the Living Christ!

He has risen!

IMG_1193

I hope you can speak these words on Easter Sunday from a personal encounter with the Living Christ and the reality of knowing He is alive in you.

This truth will change your life. The storybook Jesus will become the most important friend in your life.

It is this simple!

Jesus,

Today I abandon myself to you without any limitations. I want to know the Living Christ. Fill me with your life!

Happy Easter!

And a promise from the voice of God on Easter…

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

Choosing right from wrong the way of Christ!

There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12

The word from God today is to rest in Him and seek out His wisdom. There is also a warning to inquire of God before making decisions.

IMG_1194

The only way you can find the path of God for today is through the Holy Spirit. Jesus inquired of the Spirit of God for His every action.

You might have good intentions but they have no value without the wisdom of God.

The reality is you do not have the ability or foresight of Christ.

This biblical truth is vital to your life, “Commit your works to God and His thoughts will be established within you.”

If you try to operate out of self you are doomed to failure. The Lord is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your pathway.

Make this your reality today. Jesus loves you!

Trying to ingratiate yourself to Christ Jesus!

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.” Matthew 27:51-53

On Good Friday, the word from from God is “ingratiate”.

IMG_1192

The definition of ingratiate is “to bring oneself into favor of someone by flattery or trying to please them.”

You and I have to examine our motives with Christ. Is there subterfuge in your relationship with God?

Are you attempting to appease God with sacrifices or offerings?

Are you trying to flatter God through religious activities or works?

Are you trying to benefit yourself through Christ?

The only way you will ever ingratiate yourself to God is through your unyielding faith in the words of Christ. Without faith you cannot please God!

Good Friday is the perfect time to look within yourself!

The definition of abandonment to Christ!

“In abandoning yourself to Me, don’t lose sight of My desire to bless you abundantly.”

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God” Galatians 2:20

In preparing this narrative, God has been speaking to me about “two timing”. This the practice of worshipping God along with other gods or idols. You cannot express your love and affection for God and then turn to other gods or idols to satisfy fleshly indulgences. This makes God angry and grieves the Holy Spirit. God wants all of you.

God has also reminded me about many who have a “recalcitrant” spirit which is a rebellious attitude towards the authority of God. They insist on their own way and God has to fit in their definition of life. This is a “no win” situation if you want God.

IMG_1191

It may surprise you but abandonment to Christ is not about holiness or deliverance from sin. And, it is not about works or religion.

It is simply a decision to know the Living Christ. This activates God to begin the process of transforming you from living for self to living in oneness with Christ.

This relationship is not about doing things for God. Or, reaching a goal. It is about a journey with Jesus.

Abandonment crucifies all motives of self. It is no longer about what you want but what Christ wants. Your life will probably become more difficult not easier.

Abandonment is accepting Christ on His terms not yours. And, you will find His terms are miles apart from your thoughts or plans.

Abandonment is learning the values of Jesus and applying them to your life.

If you are serious about God, you will be tested. This is the character building of Christ.

There is no conscious effort in abandonment. It is just about a heart commitment to live with Christ and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.

Abandonment will allow you to see the power and glory of God. But Christ will never let you live there. He will point you back to the reality of today.

You can never get completely into the motion of our great God. You will always be trying to catch up with Him! This is the miracle of abandonment!

The word from God today is, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire comes it is the tree of life.”

I pray you can find hope in today and while you wait by faith for the tree of life. Christ lives so you can live!

Preparing to meet Christ Jesus on Easter Sunday!

Easter is just five days away. This worldwide celebration of Christ is going to be radically different this year for most of the world. And, many are suffering at this time!

How can Christ Jesus meet you today at your point of need and help you prepare for Easter?

Here are my thoughts from God inspired by the Holy Spirit as they relate to the troubles of today.

IMG_1183

You can celebrate Christ by accepting Him without limitations and walking by faith believing in His promises. Reach out to Him for your every need.

Do not take God lightly or second guess His actions. He has power and dominion over the heavens and earth. You have just seen a glimpse of His greatness in our recent troubles. As evidenced He can bring the world to a standstill and get the attention of all.

The judgment today is designed for you to seek repentance for your sins and come to know the reality of Christ.

The religious establishment was shaken at the resurrection of Jesus and stripped of of all rules and regulations. In the days ahead, you will see a New Testament church filled with the vibrant life of Jesus.  This revival led by the Holy Spirit will set many people free from religious rituals and rules.

Your unyielding faith in the words of Jesus will overcome the distress of today. Is Jesus really your God or just a namesake? Invite the resurrected power of the Holy Spirit to have authority in your life and fill you with the life of Jesus!

You will find God in His Word. He never changes. Be still and listen for His voice.

Pray for God to release angels to protect you and your family and to go before you in all your footsteps. This is your very best defense against the effects of the virus.

Prayer is your most powerful weapon. It will strip the power of Satan and equip you to be an overcomer.

Psalm 8 relates to the majestic work of God in creating the night sky, the stars, and the moon in context to the creation of mankind.

The question posed in this Psalm is “How mindful is God of humanity and does He care for us?”

The response from God is that He created Christ Jesus in a human form and sent Him to the earth to save us from our sins and restore us to God.

God made Jesus a little lower than angels and crowned Him with glory and honor. And, God has given Jesus authority to rule over His creation and has put all things under His feet.

There is only one safe haven for you today. Come dwell in the presence of Christ and He will save you!

When Christ brings the world to a standstill!

Here are some recent thoughts from God inspired by the Holy Spirit along with my prayer.

IMG_1190

God wants to give every believer an ebullient (joyful and full of energy) inner being. Just ask and you will receive.

God is inside you in the form of the Holy Spirit. Listen for His voice. He is a very approachable God.

There will be an end to this virus soon but not an end to the judgments of God. It is just the beginning.

Pray for the healthcare workers who jeopardize their own lives to help others. Also, pray for our government leaders.

You can’t change the will of God and questioning Him will get you nowhere! Accept God for who He is!

God reminded me again today that He is the panacea (solution) for every difficulty in life.

God simply wants you to trust Him and live in His promises! Faith is believing in the words of Christ and not what you see with your eyes!

My prayer today….

God, I understand there are many filled with doubt, fear, and anger over this virus. And, many are facing a severe financial crisis. I pray you will strengthen our faith and give us the courage to get through the many difficulties facing each one of us.

You are a Living Christ and I know you want to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway. So I pray for the wisdom and strength of Christ for all.

God, we are so confined today. I pray you will give us freedom and release us from our burdens.

Finally, God you are reminding me you kept the oil and grain pots filled for Elijah, the widower and her son for the duration of a long famine. You are the same God today. And, you fed 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. I pray your miracles and the power of your Spirit upon your people. I pray you will meet their every need and they will see your greatness and glory at work.

Christ Jesus, you remind me every day of my life that you keep your promises and there is no one like you. Let us be grounded in you and walk with the power of the Holy Spirit.

To God be the glory, great things He has done!

The character building of Christ!

“You were not born with the humility of Christ. Your interests are not mine. The Cross will transform you with My character and set you free from self pursuits.”

Not My will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42

If you are a believer, God has designed your life for one purpose. He wants to build His character within you.

IMG_1189

This character building takes place in the humiliating and ordinary situations of life. This is where you will find God.

Don’t look for God on the mountain top. Or, set your goal to live under the spot lights and glory of God. This is reserved for Christ.

God wants you to integrate Him into your life today. He wants to be a part of everything—what you eat and drink, the words you speak, your decision making, how you spend your time and money. This is how you live for God.

This can only be accomplished by giving the Holy Spirit authority over every aspect of your life. You cannot hold back secret parts of you life for self and except God to favor you. He wants all of you.

The goal of character building is to crucify every desire in your heart. This is a very painful and suffering experience. You have to lose your identity and need for self preservation.

When you get to this point, God can do great things with you because self is out of the way.

He lives so you can live!

Increasing your attention span with Christ!

“The Holy Spirit is My life. He guided me when I was on the earth and kept Me in the will of My Father. He is your gift from God. Make the Holy Spirit your best friend. He wants to give you My life.”

That they may be one, Father,  just as you are in Me and I am in you” John 17:21

Most believers compartmentalize their relationship with God. They are somewhat attentive in church, praying, or reading the Bible. Then they go about life with very little or no consciousness of God. This is where troubles arise because they are functioning from self.

IMG_1186

God did not design you to tune in and out of Him at your own volition. He wants you to live in oneness with Him at all times.

God knows you can never match up to His standards of holiness. So He sent Jesus to die for you. This provided a way for you to be forgiven for your sins and restored to God.

But the Cross did not address the need to live in oneness with God. Just think about the disciples. They were confused and without a clue until the Holy Spirit came to them.

God sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in all believers. The Holy Spirit is the essence of Christ in the form of a spiritual being.

The Holy Spirit is how you can live in oneness with Christ. He speaks to you by placing His thoughts in your mind. You have the mind of Christ so it is just a matter of learning to be still and listen for the voice of God.

The Holy Spirit also gives you dreams and visions. And, the Holy Spirit equips you with the gifts of the Spirit. This empowers you to be a powerful witness for Christ.

The Holy Spirit is your conduit to the Living Christ. Without the Holy Spirit you will just flounder through life and never experience the transfigured Christ.

The Holy Spirit keeps you on track with God and convicts you when you stray away from Christ.

If you choose to live for self or close God out from parts of your life you will quench the power of the Holy Spirit. He will still be in you but in a lackluster form.

Today, the Holy Spirit wants to help you navigate through life. He wants to order your day and show you the priorities. He wants to teach you how to apply the values of Jesus into the real time of life.

He lives so you can live!

The failure of Christ followers!

“Faith is a stumbling block for most believers. It defies the ways of the world and religion tends to replace it with works. Faith is simply believing in who I am and seeking Me out for your every need.”

Help Lord, for the godly man fails!” Psalm 12:1

The judgment taking place today is to punish all for our sins. The microcosm of this judgment is directed at the Body of Christ.

IMG_1185

The Body of Christ has been designed to reflect the glory, praise, and honor of Christ. The “set apart” people of Christ are to be an example to the world. And, we have failed God.

The Body of Christ operates with double standards. We praise God with our words but our actions lie to God. We are no different than an unbeliever except we pray at times and attend church on Sunday.

The Christian doctrine is built on faith but most believers don’t understand or attempt to live by faith. The concept of faith sounds good but it is swept under the rug by religion.

Faith is the cornerstone to a relationship with Christ. Without faith you will never please God!

The Living Christ is looking for those who want to know Him and live by His standards.
