Taking a disappearing act away from Jesus!

“For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men. They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.” Psalm 12:1-2
We cannot afford to take a vacation away from Jesus. This will lead to misery and destruction.
The Old Testament is a repetitive cycle of the Israelites living by faith and obedience with God and then slipping into sinful actions and forgetting God. This is the entire story of the Old Testament and the life of many Christians.
We lack sustaining discipline to live under the authority of Jesus.
What happens is we take on behaviors that Jesus strongly dislikes. We speak flattering words, we boast, and live with self motives.
We can avoid the backsliding by prayer, reading the Bible and listening for the voice of Jesus. But this is not enough!
Jesus gave every believer a precious gift. We are sealed with the Holy Spirit who is the life of Jesus.
Submit to the authority of the Holy Spirit and stay in constant contact with Him. The Holy Spirit will keep you on track with Jesus and convict you of actions that grieve His Spirit.
The Christ follower has nothing to boast about. He knows God provides for His every need and can be trusted implicitly.
He is humble and meek. He praises Jesus with His words.
He believes in the promises of Jesus and not what he sees with his eyes.
Staying on top with Jesus requires a lot of concentration on Him. Ask the Holy Spirit for the spiritual discipline that bring His presence into your life!
